Some child-safe CR2032 packs have a bitter coating. In the Apple AirTag it can stop the battery touching the contacts, so it seems dead after you change it. Buy an uncoated pack.
You’ll need: None
Press the polished stainless cover with two thumbs and rotate it counter-clockwise until it stops.
Lift off the cover, remove the old cell, and insert the CR2032 with the + side facing up.
Align the three tabs, press down and rotate clockwise until it stops. You will hear a chime when the new cell connects.
If there is no chime, the cell may have a bitter coating that blocks the contacts. Use an uncoated CR2032.
